Hometown Matters is a digital community news page, dedicated to reporting on people, places, and events, in the Pacific, Missouri area. Our mission is to inform the community on what is happening and what has happened in our area.
This website was founded and is managed by Pauline Masson, a Pacific resident and retired newspaper journalist of 50 years, author of four local history books and owner/publisher of Sand Mountain Books and Heritage Bookstall that has published books by local authors.
The site was origially launched to replace Pauline’s weekly column of 20 years in the Washington Missouri newspaper, titled I Have to Tell You . . . but was expanded to include local news, opinion and local history essays.
Hometown matters welcomes readers’ comments on posts, and submissions of local news.
